Wheather in Finland
It´s not that cold in Finland. We are happy to have four seasons though. The mean annual temperature is about 5.5°C in southwestern Finland, decreasing towards the northeast.
Beyond the Arctic Circle, the sun does not set producing the white nights of summer for over two months. During the winter period the sun remains below horizon creating the polar night known as Finnish "kaamos".
In spring (March–May), the mean daily temperature rises from 0°C to +10°C.
Summer usually begins in late May in southern Finland and lasts until mid-September. In Helsinki temperature rises to +25°C degrees.
In autumn (September–October), the mean daily temperature remains below +10°C.
Winter in Finland begins normally in December and lasts until March in southern Finland and until April/May in Lapland. Winter temperatures are around 0°C in Helsinki metropolitan area.
